BLOOMINGTON/ELDORADO – The Illinois High School Association Wednesday released a statement regarding the recent incident between Eldorado and Hamilton County during their boys’ basketball game at the Eldorado Holiday Tournament.

The IHSA says they have been in communication with the administration at Eldorado High School over the past few days. The school is taking internal steps to address the incident that happened during its varsity boys’ basketball contest against Hamilton County on Thursday, Dec. 28. The school plans to present their recommended action to the IHSA, at which point the IHSA will review and determine if additional consequences are warranted.

Eldorado Head Coach Josh Bradley and four other members of the coaching staff were fired at Tuesday night’s special Eldorado School Board meeting.

The school board hired former Galatia and SIC Coach Rod Wallace as interim head coach for the rest of the season.

A video posted on YouTube showed a Hamilton County player being elbowed by a Eldorado player following a foul shot. The Hamilton County player then fell on the court.
