CARMI – Former White County State’s Attorney Denton Aud was sworn-in Tuesday morning as the newest Associate Judge in the Second Circuit by White County Resident Judge T. Scott Webb during a ceremony in Carmi.

Judge Aud served as State’s Attorney before being selected by a majority vote of the Circuit Judges to fill the Associate Judge vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Judge Mark Shaner in December.

Following his swearing-in, Judge Aud commented on the events of the morning, saying he was extremely humbled and thankful for the confidence that the Judges of the Second Circuit have placed in him by appointing him to this position. Judge Aud says he’s looking forward to getting started in this new role.
