WEST FRANKFORT – Charges have been filed against Frankfort Community High School Principal Aaron Hill, who was placed on administrative leave this week by the West Frankfort School District.

According to information on the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office app, Hill was booked into the county jail Wednesday charged with Aggravated Battery. Bond was not set.

Online court records show that an Order of Protection was also filed against Hill. A plenary hearing is set for Tuesday, March 3 in Franklin County Court.

West Frankfort School District Supt. Matt Donkin says Hill will remain on administrative leave while the district conducts an internal investigation. Donkin says this matter did not involve any students or their safety. Hill’s charges stem from an incident that happened outside of school.

Administrative functions at the high school are being handled by district administrative staff and the assistant principal. Donkin says the district will have further comment if and when it becomes available to share.
