MOUND CITY – Illinois State Police are currently investigating a deadly crash that happened Tuesday night on northbound I-57 in the Cache River area of Pulaski County.

Authorities say a vehicle ran off the road and came to rest next to the river. One person died. Their name was not released.

Traffic on northbound I-57 was shut down and diverted at the Ullin exit.
