CARBONDALE – An 18-year-old Carbondale man is lodged in the Jackson County Jail in connection with a recent shooting that stemmed from a dispute between him and some people in the 200 block of West College Street Saturday afternoon.

Carbondale Police say those at the scene told officers that a male in a silver Dodge Journey fired a shot at them. Police found the vehicle in the 700 block of West College Street and identified the suspect as Deiajion R. Nichols.

Nichols was arrested and charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Aggravated Assault, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

No injuries were reported.
