CREAL SPRINGS – An arrest has been made in connection with a home burglary investigation in Williamson County.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Cleveland “Shawn” Haws was cited for Residental Burglary, two counts of Burglary, two counts of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Reckless Conduct, Reckless Driving, Driving while License Suspended, Speeding, Disobeying a Stop Sign and No Valid Registration. He was taken to and lodged in the Williamson County Jail.

Deputies saw Haws driving a pickup truck north on South Line Drive near Borton Street in Creal Springs around 2:30 Thursday afternoon. The truck was reported stolen from Marion and it did not have a license plate.

Deputies tried to stop Haws, but he continued driving before entering a wooded area known as “The Sawmill.” Haws was not able to control the truck   in the woods due to bad conditions, struck a tree and became disabled. He then fled into woods heading back toward Creal Springs where he entered a home in the 300 block of South Brown Street. He was taken into custody without incident after getting permission from a resident there to search the home.

Deputies learned the truck Haws was driving was connected with a home burglary that happened early Saturday morning in the 100 block of West Chamness Street in Creal Springs. Witnesses saw the truck speeding away from the scene. Several items were reported stolen. Deputies later recovered some of the stolen property and identified Haws as the suspect.
