DESOTO – A fatal house fire is under investigation in Jackson County.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, one person died in the fire that happened around 11:35 Friday night in DeSoto. Firefighters from DeSoto, Dowell and Elkville responded to put out the blaze. The home was occupied at the time of the fire.

Authorities say information about the death will not be released.
