CARBONDALE – A Marion man is facing drug and gun charges after Carbondale Police stopped a vehicle with suspended license plates in the 600 block of East Grand Avenue around 11:40 Saturday night.

According to Carbondale Police, officers learned the driver, 40-year-old Bernard B. Cole, had a suspended driver’s license. During the course of the arrest, Cole was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm and a controlled substance.

Cole was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Driving While License Suspended.  Cole was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
