METROPOLIS – A western Kentucky man was recently arrested and charged with Aggravated Domestic Battery and Unlawful Restraint after Metropolis Police were called to a Metropolis hotel regarding a domestic disturbance in progress.

According to Metropolis Police, this happened on Monday, Feb. 5 at the Quality Inn located just off I-24 on East 5th Street.

When officers arrived, they spoke with the caller who said that a man was fighting with a woman and was preventing her from leaving.

An investigation revealed that the victim and 41-year-old George S. Lichtenberg, of Benton, KY, had been arguing and that he struck her in the face with a bag containing frozen burritos. Officers saw injuries to her face.

The victim confirmed that Lichtenberg held his hand over her mouth and was dragging her to the elevator when she was able to break free.

Lichtenberg was arrested, charged with the offenses we mentioned at the beginning of this story, and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
