CARBONDALE – The City of Carbondale is once more at the Crossroads for the total solar eclipse occurring on April 8, 2024. Lodging in town is already sparse for this celestial event, so the city of Carbondale is now offering a pop-up campground at Evergreen Park for the Southern Illinois Crossroads Eclipse Festival! This pop-up campground will be open April 6-9, 2024, for pre-registered guests. Keep up to date with Eclipse weekend offerings by following along on the Carbondale Eclipse 2024 Facebook page!

Evergreen Park, located at 1205 W. Pleasant Hill Road, offers new accessible bathrooms, fishing at a 135-acre lake, and a great place for a picnic or to enjoy the playground. With the newly paved roads, parking lots, and sidewalks within the park, Evergreen is more accessible than ever. This pop-up campground provides ADA accessible restroom facilities, a portable shower trailer, a community cooking and gathering pavilion, and onsite trash and recycling. This pop-up campground does not have potable water or electricity. Located 2.5 miles away from downtown Carbondale, bring your kayaks, fishing poles, bikes, hiking boots, and more- the recreation opportunities are endless. Each package is priced per campsite with designated parking space reservation, one pass per vehicle for all guests.

$700 Truck and Trailer: Campsite with a 10×40 designated parking space away from the campsite
Your crew, your tent and gear on a 20×20 footprint in the camping area. Your truck and trailer are parked in a designated parking space on the grounds. One pass per vehicle for all guests. These spaces can accommodate any vehicle footprint that does not exceed 10×40 feet. *Note: trolling motor only on Evergreen Lake

$700 Black Locust Pavilion group camp site with three designated weekend parking spaces
Your crew, your tent and gear around the Black Locust Pavilion (25×35 feet). Three designated parking spaces in front of pavilion camping area. Full access to the Black Locust Pavilion. *Vehicle size limit is 20 ft.

$700 Red Oak Pavilion group camp site with three designated weekend parking spaces
Your crew, your tent and gear around the Red Oak Pavilion (20×25 feet). Three designated parking spaces in front of pavilion camping area. Full access to the Red Oak Pavilion. *Vehicle size limit is 20 ft.

$800 Pine Tree Pavilion group camp site with four designated weekend parking spaces (has electric)
Your crew, your tent and gear around the Pine Tree Pavilion (25x45feet). Four designated parking spaces in the parking lot across from Pine Tree pavilion camping area. Full access to the Pine Tree Pavilion. *Vehicle size limit is 20 ft.
