MT. VERNON (WMIX) – A 43-year-old man is being held in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting extradition back to Tennessee on an arrest warrant for statutory rape by an authority figure.

Terrance Boyd was on the Nashville, Tennessee “10 Most Wanted List” at the time of his arrest last week when Tennessee detectives found reason to believe Boyd was in the Mt. Vernon area.

Then on Friday afternoon, a Mt. Vernon patrol officer spotted a vehicle he believed was being driven by Boyd. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of 18th and Lamar.

The driver initially provided a false name to the officer but was able to be positively identified as Terrance Boyd.

Boyd was issued a citation for Obstructing Identification. He was also taken to the Jefferson County Jail with no bond on the Tennessee warrant.
