MARION – The Thrillville Thrillbillies are looking for local families to step up to the plate to become host families for the upcoming baseball season.

“Host families play a valuable role for the Thrillbillies by providing players with a place to call home for the summer,” explains Ralph Santana, Thrillbillies Coach.

Players arrive in Marion at the end of May and are in Southern Illinois until the season ends in late July.

“Our players have a busy schedule that will have them playing 58 games in 64 days. Half of those games will be away games. When the team gets home and off the bus, they are ready for a place to lay their heads. Host families provide a place for them to sleep, do laundry and an occasional home-cooked meal.”

Becoming a Host Family comes with many benefits including:

  • 2024 Season Tickets
  • Exclusive Pre-Season Banquet
  • On-Field Honorary Ceremony
  • Food and Beverage Discounts

Stanley Gooch has been hosting baseball players for nine years now and says it’s an experience like no other.

“Being a Host Family is awesome! It’s a great experience getting to know the players and their families. We’re looking forward to next season hoping to welcome our players back.”
