ORIENT – Five people were arrested following a home burglary Monday in Franklin County.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a report came in around 7:30 a.m. about a burglary taking place at a home in Orient. Patrol deputies quickly responded and spoke with witnesses and the property owner.

As a result, numerous suspects were developed. Within minutes, two suspects were located and taken into custody. As the investigation progressed three additional suspects were found and also taken into custody.

Arrested and charged with Residential Burglary and Theft over $500 were 32-year-old Cletis D. Hanks of Orient, 34-year-old Dustin C. Curry of West Frankfort, 22-year-old Marissa A. Sims of West Frankfort, 21-year-old Lindsey E. Bruce of West Frankfort and 24-year-old Courtney J. Nelson of West Frankfort. Sims also had an arrest warrant from Saline County for Failure to Appear-Probation Violation. Curry was also charged with Resisting a Peace Officer. All five were lodged in the Franklin County Jail.

Numerous articles of stolen property were also recovered.
