MARION – The Marion Police Department released the following information on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023.

Amber Mess, 43, of Marion was arrested for Retail Theft at Walmart on Sept. 17, 2023.

Dylan Barrett, 25, of Swansea was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance on Sept. 18, 2023 in the 2600 block of West DeYoung Street.

Carlos Phenix, 67, of Chicago was arrested for Burglary and Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer at Ameren located in the 1800 block of West Main Street.

Jose Trejo-Hernandez, 63, of Marion was issued citations for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, No Valid Driver’s License and No Seat Belt when Required on Sept. 20, 2023 in the 1300 block of North Carbon Street.

Mary T. Smith, 53, of Herrin was arrested for Retail Theft at Walmart on Sept. 20, 2023.

David Long, 45, homeless in the Marion area was arrested for Violation of Sex Offender Registration on Sept. 20, 2023.

Robert Atchison Jr., 49, of Sesser was arrested for Retail Theft at Walmart on Sept. 20, 2023.

Travis Jones, 37, of Herrin was issued citations for Driving While License Suspended, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Expired Registration and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident on Sept. 22, 2023 in the area of 17th Street.

Kevin Kirkwood Jr., 21, of Marion was arrested for Domestic Battery in the 700 block of Taft Street on Sept. 22, 2023.

Matthew Cantrell, 48, of Marion was arrested for Speeding 35+ over limit on Sept. 23, 2023 in the 2600 block of West DeYoung Street.

Autumn Pierce, 31, of Marion was issued a citation for Speeding 26-34 over limit on Sept. 23, 2023 in the area of Old Creal Springs Road and Pickett Lane.

Joseph Garrison, 33, of Thompsonville was arrested for Motor Vehicle Theft om Sept. 18, 2023 in the 2800 block of Outer Drive.

Chelsea Phillips, 33, of Marion was arrested for Retail Theft at Westmore Liquor Mart on Sept. 26, 2023.

David Long, 45, of Marion was arrested on Sept. 26, 2023 for Failure to Register Sex Offender Weekly-Homeless.

Olivia Lopez, 18, of Marion was arrested for Violation of Bail Bond on September 26, 2023 in the area of North Market Street and West Boulevard Street.

Celena Davis, 27, of Marion was arrested for Domestic Battery and Violation of No Contact Order on Sept. 26, 2023 in the 1300 block of West Boulevard Street.

Mary Merritt, 43 of Herrin was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamines, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting/Obstructing Police Officers on Sept. 14, 2023 in the 1200 block of Midway Court.
