MARION – Eleven Southern Illinois Walmart stores have purchased the remainder of available tickets for the Thrillville Thrillbillies baseball game in Marion on Tuesday, June 20th. The group announced Monday that they will give the tickets to the public at no cost.

According to Megan Halstead, Store Manager at the Marion Walmart, the Thrillbillies are making it easy for anyone wanting tickets. “All folks have to do is visit the Stadium Box Office and tell them they want tickets for Tuesday,” Halstead said. “But don’t wait too long! The weather looks wonderful and, with all the fun things we have planned, I’m sure we’ll have a big crowd.”

The Walmart stores in Anna, Benton, Carbondale, Carmi, Chester, Du Quoin, Harrisburg, Herrin, Marion, Murphysboro, and Sparta were already sponsors of the June 20th game and were providing free tickets to their employees. “The 11 managers all agreed free Thrillbillie tickets might be a nice way to say ‘thank you’ to our customers for their loyalty and support. We are all very excited about the opportunity for our employees to interact with the public in the fun, Thrillville atmosphere,” Halstead said.

Thrillbillies Field Manager, Ralph Santana was grateful for Walmart’s generosity. “They already do so much for the community, I shouldn’t be surprised,” Santana said. “They serve the public 24/7 and our organization will make sure it’s a very special night.”

Tuesday’s game will also be a special theme night. “Stranger-er Things Night” celebrates popular Netflix programs like Stranger Things, Wednesday, Tiger King, and Squid Game, with quirky games. Walmart Team Members are planning games and activities throughout the stadium concourse with donations benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network, and everyone goes home with a free 12-pack of 7-UP courtesy of Pepsi MidAmerica.

The Stadium Box Office is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, with extended hours on game day.

The Thrillbillies take on the Cape Catfish on Tuesday, June 20th. Gates open at 5:45 p.m. with the first pitch at 6:45 p.m.
