
METROPOLIS – The following information was released by the Metropolis Police Department on Monday, April 10, 2023.
April 3, 2023
Metropolis officers arrested Shane R. Oliver, 42, of Metropolis with Aggravated Domestic Battery and Violation of an Order of Protection at a residence in the 1000 block of E. 6th St. Oliver is accused of choking the victim and being armed/holding a knife while doing so. There is also a order of protection prohibiting him from being at the residence. Oliver was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center
April 5, 2023
Metropolis Police received 911 calls of a male yelling and a female screaking at a residence in the 1800 block of Neville. Officers learned that Christopher L Murphy, 43, of Metropolis had tried to kick open a door and eventually climbed through an open window to gain entry to the home. The victims did not give him permission to enter. Murphy was charged with Criminal Trespass to Property and Disorderly Conduct. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
April 6, 2023
Lillie I. Stigger, 20, of Metropolis was arrested at the Spence Apartments. Stigger was wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued by McCracken County, KY, for Aggravated Robbery. She was also found to be in possession and charged with Possession of Ammunition without a FOID Card. Stigger was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
April 8, 2023
Robert L. Little, 42, of Metropolis was arrested for Domestic Battery at a residence in the 1100 block of E. 3rd Street. The victim advised that she was struck in the face, choked and struck in the arm and leg. Officers observed injuries to her lip. Little was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Norman E. Slocum, 63, of Metropolis was arrested in the 200 block of Lindsey. Slocum was charged with Assault-Hate Crime. The victims stated and proved with video, that Slocum was threatening them with a hammer and yelling racial slurs at them. This has been an on-going problem. Slocum was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
