
CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police say new information has developed regarding a 23-year-old Carbondale man recently arrested during a search for illegal weapons at at Carbondale home.
Police say they are looking for David D. Ward.
While detectives were working on other active investigations last month, they identified individuals involved in illegal weapons possession.
Detectives secured a search warrant for a home in the 6000 block of Old Highway 13.
On the morning of Feb. 24, Carbondale Police officers and detectives located two firearms, one of which had previously been reported stolen, as well as narcotics.
As a result of the investigation, Ward was arrested on a Jackson County warrant not related to the search warrant. He posted bond and was released pending court.
Another man, 24-year-old Malik M. Reeves of Carbondale, was also arrested and charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Violation of Bail Bond, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Stolen Firearm. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
Police say as a result of the search warrant and the ongoing investigation, detectives sought and received an arrest warrant for Ward for Violation of Pre-trial Release-Possession of a Firearm, Obstructing Justice and Illegal Possession of Firearm Ammunition.
