MCLEANSBORO – Bonnie Florine Sandusky, age 93 and resident of McLeansboro, IL, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at McLeansboro Health Care & Rehabilitation Center McLeansboro, IL.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. to noon, Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL.
The funeral service will be held at noon, Thursday at Harre Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Prince officiating the service.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, McLeansboro.
Bonnie was born December 7, 1929 in Liberal, KS to Fred Howk and Bonnie (Queen) Howk. She married William Leo Sandusky on July 19, 1946 in Perryenton, TX and he passed away in 2003. Bonnie worked as a seamstress and was employed by Elder Manufacturing. She was a member of the 1st General Baptist Church, McLeansboro and she loved to crochet, read and go to church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include son Fred Sandusky ( companion Kay Bybee), McLeansboro; daughter-in-law Bobbi Sandusky, McLeansboro; grandchildren Jeremiah Sandusky (wife Julie), Will Sandusky (wife Beth), Jason Sandusky (wife Evana), Leighanna Browning, Stephanie Chambliss and husband Jake; great grandchildren Jaycee Sandusky, Camron and Creed Browning, Londynn Browning, Elijah Sandusky, Maihaleigh Browning, Tig Chambliss, Wilie Chambliss, Vayda Chambliss; sister Loraine Rahenkamp, Arlington, TX.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, son William “Bill,” daughter-in-law Ramona; three brothers Jack, Dick and Frank Queen.
Memorials may be made to The Down’s Syndrome Association in memory of Bonnie Sandusky and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, IL
