

CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police say in the course of working on other active investigations, Carbondale Police detectives identified individuals involved in illegal weapons possession. Detectives secured a search warrant for a home in the 6000 block of Old Highway 13.
Carbondale Police officers and detectives executed the search warrant Friday morning and located two firearms, one of which had previously been reported stolen, as well as narcotics.
As a result of the investigation, detectives arrested 23-year-old David D. Ward of Carbondale on a Jackson County warrant. Ward posted bond and was released pending court.
Detectives also arrested 24-year-old Malik M. Reeves of Carbondale and charged him with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Violation of Bail Bond, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Reeves was lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
Carbondale Police say the investigation is active and ongoing.
