CARBONDALE – Bundle up and raise cold, hard cash to support those experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger in southern Illinois! On Saturday, February 25, the Carbondale Warming Center (CWC) will host the ‘Coldest Night of the Year,’ a family-friendly winter fundraising walk.
By walking together in the chill of the night, participants will better understand the experience of being on the streets during a cold winter while raising funds to aid the work of the Carbondale Warming Center.
The walk will begin and end at Grand Avenue Christian Church, located at 1305 E. Grand Ave in Carbondale. Participants will walk a 2k or 5k route and warm up with toasty drinks at rest stops. Registration will start at 4 p.m. The walk will begin at 5 p.m., and a warm meal will be provided upon the walkers’ return to celebrate the night’s achievements!
Register here to sign up as a Team Captain, join a friend’s team, or walk as an individual. To begin registration click “Register to Walk + Fundraise.”
This is the Carbondale Warming Center’s first year participating in the Coldest Night of the Year, with a fundraising goal of $20,000. All donations are deeply appreciated!
